Background The outcomes for a wide range of physical and mental health conditions can be influenced by the level criticism warmth in family environment known literature as Expressed Emotion (EE). This finding is also true individuals with an At-Risk Mental State (ARMS) psychosis individual’s perceptions EE predicting transition to psychosis. While original concept incorporates both positive negative aspects relationships, most measures research focus on relationships. Positive factors are important associated improvements functioning reduced symptoms. However, absence comprehensive, self-report measure has hindered this area.Methods study aimed investigate reliability validity new 10-item Service User Perceived Criticism Warmth Questionnaire (SU-PCaW) based 2-item questionnaires.Results was quick easy administer had high internal consistency reliability.Conclusion would aid services screening families therapy, helpful evaluating intervention groups such ARMS population useful future developments.
